Our graduate, undergraduate and professional development animal science and behavior programs have been developed with busy adult learners in mind who wish to begin a career, or enhance a current one, working with animals and their caregivers. Theoretical courses are lead by instructor’s holding PhD, DVM/VMD, JD or Master’s degrees and taught in online classrooms on our Virtual Campus at http://amcollege.net. Students can login anytime, 24/7/365, from any computer or handheld device with an Internet connection. In addition, live videoconferencing using a Webcam and telephone connection can place 15 students and an instructor on a student’s computer monitor for lecture, discussion and the exchange of ideas in real time. Lab courses, called Academic Residencies, are 5-day intensive workshop courses with animals that afford students the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in developing hands-on skill sets working with animals under faculty direction. Academic Residency courses are held at various locations in the U.S. and Canada. Practicum courses or externships provide real world experiences for students in or around their community under the guidance of an approved field or facility supervisor.

Learning new skill sets that can be directly applied to employment or the development of an animal-related business or professional practice is only one feature of ACAS academic programs. Studnets learn to develop critical thinking skills and research skills in order to solve problems that they will face in their careers and personal lives. All bachelor and master degree program students will design and complete a thesis research project under the guidance of their thesis committee. ACAS encourages students to present their work at poster sessions or as paper presentations at educational conferences. In addition, the research center here at the college will assist students who wish to pursue publication of their study in peer review scientific publications.

These are only a few of the commitments that our institution makes to each and every one of our students in our college community. The process begins with an application for admission and continues beyond program completion with our alumni and career development professionals. We invite you to explore our graduate, undergraduate, and professional development programs by downloading our current Academic Catalog and speaking with an Admissions Advisor today.
Knowledge is power and academic credentials are a means to exercise it. You may contact an Admissions Advisor to discuss our programs and your individual goals Monday – Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm EST (EDT) toll-free from the U.S. at 800-403-DEGREE (3347), option 1 or from outside of the U.S. at 011-386-698-4625.
