Crescent City is a small picturesque bass fishing village with a vast amount of old Florida history and charm surrounded by Lake Crescent and Lake Stella in northern Florida. The region includes ferneries, orange groves, horse and cow pastures, and farm fields located about 90 minutes north of Orlando International Airport (MCO), 60 minutes northwest of Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) and 120 minutes southwest of Jacksonville International Airport (JAX). We recommend using MapQuest for obtaining driving directions.
The college has made special arrangements with a local motel and several bed and breakfasts in the village for students attending one or more 5-day academic residencies at our Dream Pond Science Field Station and Reserve in Crescent City. There are also other accommodations located in the area. At this writing, a single dog can be accommodated at the Lake View Mote for an additional fee. Dogs can also be housed at the Dream Pond facility as well. When making reservations, be sure to ask for the ACAS student discount.
