AMERICAN COLLEGE OF APPLIED SCIENCE ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW PROVOST AND VICE PRESIDENT OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS; AND CHAIRPERSON, DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL SCIENCE.
CRESCENT CITY, FL (June 1, 2009) – The American College of Applied Science, a private degree granting institution offering graduate, undergraduate and professional development programs in animal science and behavior through blended leaning synchronous and asynchronous course delivery, is pleased to announce that Marine Cassoret, Ph.D. has been promoted to the position of Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Angela DiLillo, M.A.Ed., D.V.M. will be assuming the position formally held by Dr. Cassoret as Chairperson, Department of Animal Science.
"I am very excited about these new appointments," says Robert DeFranco, President of ACAS. "Dr. Cassoret has done an outstanding job from our very first days here at the college. She has shaped the department into a world-class teaching operation by leading the inception of the first U.S. Master of Science degree programs in companion animal behavior counseling and animal shelter administration. Additionally, she was instrumental in the development of the first U.S. Bachelor of Science degree program in companion animal science as well as the Associate in Science degree program in dog training, care and caregiver counseling. We are extremely confident that Dr. Cassoret will do an outstanding job as our Chief Academic Officer in leading the college forward in its teaching, program development and graduate student research."
Angela DiLillo, M.A.Ed., D.V.M. is a licensed veterinarian with a graduate degree in education. Dr. DiLillo has taught animal science courses at ACAS for several years, as well as at other higher education institutions, and will be assuming the position as Chairperson, Department of Animal Science. "Dr. DiLillo has outstanding credentials and an impressive record as an instructor here at the college, to head the Department of Animal Science," says DeFranco. "Dr. DiLillo will be instrumental in growing the department, and moving it into new directions, including the development of new programs in graduate and undergraduate animal science, veterinary technology and graduate research. We are extremely pleased that she has stepped up to this important position of leadership within our college community."
