Editorial Policy — How AMCollege Creates and Reviews Content
This policy governs how AMCollege creates, reviews, updates, and corrects every piece of content on this site. We publish it here because transparency about process is the baseline for trust — and trust is the only thing that makes an educational resource worth reading.
Author Requirements
Every AMCollege article is written by a named author with verifiable credentials in the subject area they cover. We do not publish anonymous content, use pseudonyms, or credit articles to “AMCollege Staff.”
Before an author publishes their first piece on AMCollege, they must meet these requirements:
- Hold a relevant graduate degree (master’s or higher) or equivalent professional certification in their content area
- Demonstrate at least five years of professional experience in the field they will write about
- Provide verifiable references for claimed credentials (degree-granting institutions, certification bodies, former employers)
- Agree to our corrections policy and content update obligations
Guest contributors follow the same credentialing process. A shorter professional track record may be accepted if the contributor holds an advanced certification (e.g., CAAB, BCBA, PMP) or has published peer-reviewed work in the relevant field.
How We Create Content
Article topics originate from three sources: reader questions and feedback, gaps identified through our editorial calendar, and developments in the fields we cover. We do not accept paid content requests or publish sponsored articles.
Each article follows a consistent production process. The assigned author researches the topic using primary sources — peer-reviewed studies, official program documentation, regulatory filings, and direct interviews where applicable. They write the first draft with inline citations for every factual claim. A second editor reviews the draft for accuracy, clarity, and completeness. The article is then formatted, tagged, and published.
For tool reviews and platform evaluations, the reviewing author creates an account on the platform and tests it directly. We do not write reviews based on screenshots, press releases, or vendor-provided demos alone. When hands-on testing is impractical (for example, enterprise-tier software requiring an institutional license), we disclose that limitation in the article.
Fact-Checking Standards
Factual claims require sourcing. Statistics must trace back to the original study or dataset, not a secondary article that cited it. When we reference professional certifications, we link to the certifying body. When we state program costs or eligibility requirements, we verify against the program’s current official documentation.
If a claim cannot be independently verified, we either remove it or flag it explicitly as unverified. We do not use hedge language (“some experts say,” “studies suggest”) as a substitute for actual sourcing.
Content Updates and Reviews
Every published article undergoes a quarterly review cycle. During these reviews, we verify that linked resources are still active, stated facts remain accurate (particularly pricing, program availability, and certification requirements), and the article reflects any significant developments in the field.
Updated articles display a “Last reviewed” date at the top. If an update involves a material change — corrected data, revised recommendations, or removed content — we note the change in an update log at the bottom of the article.
Affiliate Disclosure
Some articles contain affiliate links to products, platforms, or services we review. These links are marked with the rel="sponsored" attribute in accordance with search engine guidelines and FTC requirements.
Our affiliate relationships do not influence editorial decisions. We select which products to review based on reader relevance, not commission rates. If a product we review offers an affiliate program, we may enroll — but the review is written, edited, and approved before any affiliate link is added. Negative reviews remain published with affiliate links intact. We do not remove critical coverage because a vendor relationship exists.
Revenue from affiliate links supports the operation of this site. We disclose this here and at the point of each affiliate link within content.
Corrections Policy
We fix errors. When a reader, author, or editor identifies a factual inaccuracy, we investigate within two business days and issue a correction if warranted. Corrections appear at the top of the affected article with a description of what was changed and when.
Minor corrections (typos, broken links, formatting issues) are fixed without formal notice. Substantive corrections (incorrect data, misattributed sources, flawed recommendations) receive a visible correction notice that remains on the article permanently.
To report an error, email editorial@amcollege.us with the article URL and a description of the issue. We take accuracy seriously and appreciate readers who hold us to it.
